My love for photography

The true is that in this semester I don’t enjoyed so much the subjects that I have, maybe because I’m tired of have to go to university with this hot weather or on these dates of the year when all other students are in vacations. But, if I have to choose one, I would say that my favorite subject in this semester is Photography, because I’ve always been interested in the art of the photos, even when I was younger I took pictures in the street or in places that I thought were pretty, actually I was very good with the camera, but I think that I’m not that good anymore.
Well, in the class we learn about how to use correctly the camera, set their settings. How it has to be the light, the best times in the day for take some kinds of pictures, and things like that. Also we have done presentations about different topics in the photography like history, art, war, body, technology, etc. In class we practice with the tutor and the teacher how to do the techniques, and after we have to send to both a photo delivery with what they say.
I hope go back to be so good like I was before, and I hope this subject help me with that.

I put in this post some of my old favorite pictures, so you can see that I’m not lying hahaha.

Where I read

radio.uchile.cl/ is a news website from Universidad de Chile, I chose this site not because it is of my university, I do it because I think that it is the most impartial, even when it is tendentious to the left, they include in their topics some things that traditional mass media don't do.

This website has a very huge list of sections, in it you can find topics like science, sports, human rights, environment, health, etc. Obviously it also has the classics like economics, politics, culture and international.
I visit this site all the times that I want to know deeply some news, like when something happen in the political world, I read about it in this site because I have the security that in here all the information is 100% trustworthy. Also when I have to do some work for the university, I surf in this website searching any news that traditional media don't talk, then I read about it and use it for do a bigger investigation.

I hope you visit the site sometime and find
something that interests you!

forever belieber

It is hard for me to do a playlist for all my life, I have passed for all kinds of music that you can imagine. The first band that I remember that I loved was Axe Bahía, I had a cassette of them and I listened to it all day long while I danced .
Later when I was older, I listened to Kudai , Avril Lavigne, and that kind so sad of music. But also, and strangely, I knew all the most popular songs of reggaeton. Well, I still know them, old and new songs.
When I was 13 years old, I had my biggest crush in music: Justin Bieber. I was crazy about him, I had my wall with more than 30 posters of his, and when he came to Chile i went to his concert, and i slept outside to the stadium the day before, for get the best location.

Nowadays I listen to a lot of R&B music, like Rihanna, Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, etc. Also I like cumbia and reggaeton, very fancy hahaha. And I still love Justin Bieber, in fact, I'm gonna go to his concert here on 23th of march.

This picture is very meaningful to me. I took it in the port of San Antonio -that is what's see in the photo- one day in October 2013. The story behind that photography is a little personal and sad, but I think it's good sometimes to talk about the hard part of life.
In that year I had a very serious depression. The day when I took that picture, I had had a panic attack in the morning when I woke up to go to school, was a bad one. Because of that my parentts decided to take me to the beach for the day. We went my mom, my dad and my -in that time- new little dog Simón.
I remember I felt so better when we came back home that day, and It was there when I realized how lucky I was.
I like this picture because, even when it have a sad history behind, It's reminds me how beautiful is my family, and that I overcame all that part of my life that nowadays bring me so much strenght.

The good side of TV

My favorite area in journalism is the TV, because I think it’s the closest way to speak with people. All houses have a TV, or more than one. People are very connected to the information that TV gives them, even when it’s wrong, people still believing in that.
But, I’m not referring to the “show of tv” that the news make in these days, I think that TV of this time is very wrong because they don’t have a real commitment with the mission of informing the people,  they only care about selling more and more, that’s also why their editorial lines are so restricted and unethical sometimes.

My interest in the TV is because I think that if we use it right, the journalism can make a big difference in the life of people, and we can't only say the "TV is bad" and keep with that, we have to make the change if we want to make it better.

my precious

Have you spent 18 days sleeping in a tent? well, I did it. And it isn't nice at all. That is why mi favourite piece of technology is a bed. A big bed with a comfortable mattress in which you can be completely relaxed.
I really don’t know when I got my bed, I think It has been in my house since always. But I know that my mattress was my sister’s and she gave it to me when she left home. I remember that I got so happy because was a mattress almost new and was so much better than the one I had.

I use it every night, and every time that I can be in it. I love it because it is the only thing where you can really completely rest, and basically, life’s awful when you don’t sleep in a good bed.

The path of journalism

I was never really sure what I wanted to study, I had so many ideas in my mind about different study programmes. I have always liked  writing, when I was little, around 8 years old, I wrote dramatic and fictitious stories all by myself. Then, when I had to start thinking seriously what I wanted to do with my future, I really started to consider the path of journalism like an option that would make me happy. Unfortunaly, in a college fair, I had a very bad experience with a program director who told me that my dreams about journalism were a little impossibles, from that day on I forgot about it.
That's when I started to look for other options: law, publicity, theater, photography, and an infinite list of possibles careers that I did not really wanted.
Finally, when I saw my good score in the PSU and I knew that I could study at University of Chile, I decided to come back to my first choice and go ahead with journalism.
